Obituary

John Minogue was born to James and Rita Minogue in Flushing, NY. John was the third son to his hard-working father and Irish immigrant mother. He was raised in Pittsburgh with his older brother James and younger sister Eileen.

John went to Gateway High School and graduated in 1982. Next, he enlisted in the Navy at the strong suggestion of his father in 1984.
John had many careers, including:
United States Navy – Communications
Running a guest house in St Thomas Virgin Islands
United States Postal Service
Merchant Marines-Communications
City of Las Vegas Parking Enforcement Officer
Due to his military and government service, he could retire at the senior enlisted level of Chief Petty Officer.

He was able to travel around the world numerous times and always had stories of his experiences. John had a unique understanding of world cultures and politics. He was a fantastic storyteller, quick-minded, and had a smile on his face.

While stationed in the Middle East, John met his wife Susan; they married in 1990. They had two daughters, Susanna and Jesse Anne.
During John and Susan's 30 year marriage, they lived in the Philippines, Florida, California, and Nevada. They have lived in Las Vegas for 16 years.

During his retirement, he spent the majority of his time with his family. He was always helping with the daily carpool, attending various school and sports functions.

He was a constant support for his family. He loved sharing his life lessons with his children and grandchild, telling stories about his childhood and work life.

John's attributes included loyalty, understanding, and being very clever. He always stayed a die-hard Steeler's fan; there was no off-season for him.

He leaves behind his loving wife Susan, daughters Susanna and Jesse Anne, and grandson Mason. He also leaves behind his loving mother, Rita Minogue, brother James and sister Eileen Logan (Lauren and Liam). His is preceded in death by his father James Minogue.

You can write so many things about John, but one thing is you could always count on a good story to be told by him.

A Memorial Mass will beheld for John at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714 on June 9, 2020 at 1:00PM.
