John E. Maroney, 74, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, passed away January 10, 2023. He was born March 25, 1948, in Kanawha County, West Virginia. John attended Eastmoor High School in Columbus, Ohio, class of 1966 and later went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbus State Community College, class of 1987, graduating with honors. He worked as District Manager for The Columbus Citizen-Journal until December, 1985. After graduating college, he spent his career designing and selling conveyor systems and retired from Outsource Equipment Company in 2018. He was an avid and skilled golfer and had a true love for the game. John was preceded in death by his parents George Sr. and Mary Maroney and brother, George Maroney Jr. He is survived by his wife, Allene Maroney, daughter Traci (David) Marcum, grandson Alexander (Morgan) Marcum, brother Michael Sr. (Lynn) Maroney, sister-in-law Patsy Maroney, ex-wife Carol (Tom) Tobin, and many nieces. nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed, but his memory, especially his laugh, will live forever in our hearts. A private Celebration of Life will be held in Altamonte Springs on January 28, 2023.
