June 8, 1948 – November 2, 2026
John Radey Manion, affectionately known as “JR,” of Apopka, Florida, passed away on November 2, 2026, at the age of 78.
JR was truly larger than life. With a personality that could fill any room, he was the life of the party, a natural entertainer, and a master storyteller. He loved nothing more than sharing a good story, delivering the perfect punchline, and bringing laughter to those around him. His quick wit, unforgettable sense of humor, and magnetic personality made him someone you simply couldn't forget.
JR spent his childhood in Lockport, New York, where he grew up and graduated from high school. He went on to attend Canisius College and Bryant & Stratton Business College. A successful entrepreneur, JR possessed a natural drive for business and a passion for sharing his knowledge and experience with others. Throughout his life, he mentored many men, leaving a lasting impact on those he guided and encouraged.
A man of remarkable talents, JR was an accomplished saxophonist whose love for music was matched by his passion for golf, a sport at which he excelled. He was also a master of calligraphy, possessing an extraordinary artistic gift. Whether he was playing his saxophone, enjoying a round of golf, or captivating an audience with one of his stories, JR brought enthusiasm and personality to everything he did.
Above all, JR was blessed with a wonderful family and a lifetime of memories shared with those he loved. He was married during his lifetime to Patricia Hare and Lisa Manion.
JR is survived by his daughters, Maureen (John) Pfeiffer and Alexandria (Jonathan) Manion; his son, Arthur Manion; his brothers, Michael Manion, William Manion, and Thomas Manion; his nieces, Tiffany Manion and Ashley Manion; his nephews, Adam Manion, Raymond Manion, and Kevin Manion; and his grandchildren, Monica Pfeiffer and Patty Pfeiffer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances Manion, and his sister, Monica Manion.
JR will be remembered for his remarkable personality, his love of laughter, his many talents, and the countless stories and memories he leaves behind. Though his voice may be quiet now, the laughter he inspired, the music he played, and the lives he touched will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
