John Francis Lawyer, age 85 of Longwood, FL, died on January 13, 2020 in Lake Mary, FL. His beautiful and much beloved wife, Ruth Lawyer, passed on September 12, 2019. John and Ruth had a real love story. There was always love for his much adored wife and the rest of the family that endured in good and bad times. Their relationship strengthened over the years only becoming deeper and more fulfilling. The family is taking comfort that John and Ruth are united once again.

John was born in Troy, New York to William and Myrtle (Collins) Lawyer on May 8, 1934. He is survived by his sons: John, Mark, Michael and his daughters: Debbie, Cheryl, Kim, Carolyn. John will also be missed by his loving sister, Sandra, and will meet up with his brother, Richard and his sisters' Shirley and Jackie in heaven.

John also will be missed by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren: Michael, Cory, Nichole, Troy, Vanessa, Deon, Ali, Kristin, Courtney, Adrian, Alex, Avery, and Ansel. As a Grandfather, John always loved seeing his grand kids and did his best to keep up with them, smiling the whole time. He happily took them fishing and to the petting zoo.

John was a family man who was happiest surrounded by family especially during the holidays. He was steadfast and always made sure the family was taken care of and was happy to offer words of encouragement. He was a veteran serving in the army in the Korean war.

He had a green thumb and like to grow everything from vegetables to berries. He also had a love for animals and at one point in his life had a horse, pigs, chickens, rabbits, and a dog all at the same time! You could count on him to have a scratcher in his hand and Altoids in the other. He was one never to miss a good time. He really appreciated visits from family and friends and reconnecting with people from his youth when moved to Florida.

John will be missed dearly, but absolutely lived fully.
