John William Hurst, 85, of Altamonte Springs, FL, born August 29, 1932 in Agency, MO passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 peacefully in his home. He was a dedicated mathematician at the University of Central Florida who retired after 35 years of service. His passion for teaching was apparent to his students. Upon retirement he spent much of his time playing golf with his friends. He leaves behind four daughters; Joni Hurst, Karen "Bob" Cloninger, Pam "Donald" Roberts, and Jill "Marc"Ryon, grandchildren Mariah 35, Mason 23, and Connor 21 and great grandchildren; Christian 8, and Spencer 5. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 2, 11:00AM, at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 N. Orlando Ave., Maitland, FL. 32751
