John Basil Huff, 94 went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 12, 2016. He was preceded by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John B. and Gertrude Huff Sr., Basil is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Avenell �Penny� Huff; sons: John M. Huff of Petersburg, W.V., James R. Huff of St. Petersburg, Florida; also survived by four grandchildren, Robert of Riverside, California; Samantha of Newport News, Virginia and John Jr and Anthony, both of Cumberland, Maryland. God has richly blessed him.
Basil has been a member of Northside Baptist Church for 30 years where he enjoyed operating the sound system for the Golden Heirs, the senior �get together� every week and the Koinonia, the ABF Class.
Basils love for electronics began many years ago when he was 12, he disassembled a radio and put it back together and, yes, it still worked. That was back when radios had 4 and 5� glass tubes and 2 and 3� condensers, remember that?
He served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII. Basil will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be conducted Monday, March 21 in the funeral home chapel at 12:30 P.M. with Committal Services to follow at Bay Pines National Cemetery at 2:15 P.M.
