John C. Donohoe, 89, of Altamonte Springs, FL, died peacefully on September 17, 2019.
John was born in Lowell, Massachusetts. He graduated from Boston College in 1951 and served in the U.S. Air Force.
John found his love, Teresa, while living and working for Martin Marietta in Baltimore, MD. They married in 1956 and raised three children together. He transferred to Martin Marietta's Central Florida division in 1968.
Retiring after 39 years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, doing home projects and traveling. He was very active with St. Mary Magdalen church. He enjoyed working with Boy Scout Troop 38, Habitat for Humanity and teaching religious education.
John is survived by his daughter, Mary Donohoe of San Diego, CA; son, John P. Donohoe of El Cajon, CA; daughter, Elaine (Stephen) Gallagher of Casselberry, FL; grandsons Daniel (Brittany) & Mark (Alicia) Gallagher; three great-grandchildren; brother, James Brendan Donohoe of Hampton, NH.
Viewing will be held Friday, September 27th from 4-6pm at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 Orlando Ave., Maitland.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12pm Saturday, September 28th at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 861 Maitland Ave, Altamonte Springs.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in John's name to Habitat for Humanity or Boy Scouts of America. Or, consider visiting someone in a nursing facility that could use some company and a smile.
