John DiDomenico, age 69, beloved husband of 40 years to Catherine (Yunker) DiDomenico, of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Tucson, Arizona and Chicago, Illinois, died on August 31. He was surrounded by his wife and three children, as he slipped peacefully into heaven. He now lives in the Light of God Almighty.
John was born on April 5, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his children, Jonathan, Nathan and Rachel DiDomenico, all of Orlando, Florida; his sister, Carol (John) Johnsen, of Barrington, Illinois; his sister, Denise, of Arlington Heights, Illinois; several nephews and a niece and countless friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Josephine (Valenti) DiDomenico; and his brother, Edward.
John was a graduate of Illinois State University Chicago with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He spent his career in Software Design.
John was an amateur astronomer and spent many happy hours with his telescopes and computer, photographing stars and galaxies invisible to the naked eye. He loved life and loved to laugh, and he made everyone around him laugh. Christmas was his favorite time of year. He loved everything Disney, Hallmark movies (especially Christmas) and action movies alike. He adored his family and was happiest when he was with them. He loved the Hawaiian community in Orlando and was a regular worshipper at the Nu Oli Hawaiian Worship Service at Salem Lutheran church.
He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
