John L. D'Alessandro's Obituary
John L. D'Alessandro, age 69, of Orlando, FL passed away on May 11, 2022 after battling cancer. John was born on May 25, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Betty D'Alessandro Vissat and Michael F. D'Alessandro. He is also predeceased by his step-father, Floyd Vissat.
After leaving New York he headed to the San Francisco Bay Area, accompanied by Michael, for his job. They remained in San Francisco for 20 years making many lifelong friendships. They then made a home in the Miami area to be closer to family, and in August, 2021 they moved to Orlando.
Anyone that knew John would agree that he was larger than life. John was entertaining and loved doing so, but also enjoyed being the entertainment director. He loved food and also loved to prepare it. John loved to travel but most important was his love for family and friends. In essence, John travelled the world and into the hearts of all that knew him.
Left to treasure his memory are his husband Michael J. Otocki and Rico (the dog of his life), sisters Mary-Lynn Knowles (Ed), Diane D'Alessandro Pierce, step siblings Barbara White, Fred Vissat (deceased), Floyd Vissat (Donna), Don Vissat (Kristen), Dan Vissat, Henry and Maria Otocki (father and mother in-law), sisters in-law Helen Young (Michael), Susannah Otocki, brother in-law Stephen Otocki (Jennifer), nieces Dana Pierce Garcia (Matt), Laine Knowles Tabone (Eric), Jessica Ferris (Charlie), Kara Lawless (Kevin), Ashley Otocki (Laura), Kelsey Otocki, Cheyenne Otocki, nephews, Michael Knowles, Ryan Pierce, Austin Otocki (Amanda) and 10 grand nieces and nephews that held a special place in his heart.
John's life will be celebrated in both Greenville, SC and San Francisco, CA at a later date. Please return to this site at a later time.
