John Joseph Carroll

John was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 16, 1041. John was the first child of Rose Kelly and John Carroll. John had 4 siblings, his brother Billy who passed away in 1973 and three sisters, Patricia, Mary Ann, and Catherine. John met his future wife Betty when they were 13 years old. They were married on August 29, 1959. They had four children, John Jr., Brian Robert, Lori Ann and Lisa Mary. John had an amazing voice and was a night club singer as a young man. He would sing standards like "More" or "Unforgettable" at family events regularly. John loved jazz music and afternoons betting at the racetrack. John was a memorable figure who loved to be social; he could make a friend anywhere anytime. He is famous for his assignment of nicknames, if you received one you were "in". John always worked hard to provide for his family and retired from three careers, he worked heavy road construction in NYC for 21 years and was a member of The Laborers Union, Local 731, he then drove limousine for a funeral livery in NYC for 10 years and then finally after moving to Florida, retired from Walt Disney World after 16 years of service to "the rat". He is famous for his hysterical stories; he was always the life of the party. John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty; his four children, his seven grandchildren and one great grandchild and many close family and friends. A memorial mass and service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 5300 Old Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, FL 32792, (407) 657-6114, http://www.stspp.net/#events . The mass will begin at 1:00pm, reception and memorial will follow
