Joanna Marie Coletta Williams, (lovingly known as Mumzie to all) age 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, September 14, 2016. She was the cherished wife of the late Robert L. Williams. Born October 21, 1918 in West Warwick, Rhode Island Joanna was the daughter of the late George and Adelina (Lombardi) Coletta. Mumzie was a nurse at a maternity ward when she first met "Len". As their schedules were constantly in conflict, they worked out a system whereby Mumzie would pass on the new babies surnames and Len would visit posing as the new father. This is how their courtship began, with many conversations as she presented baby after baby to him. He appreciated her sense of humor and her incredible sense of fun; she knew that anyone who so obviously loved babies as he did was a good choice. They married and a life full of adventure began; the marriage included six children and living in many different countries. After their final move from Australia back to Florida 'The Ponder', with its expansive grounds and beautiful setting on Buck Lake, became the family home and was the focal point for an expanding family as grandchildren were born. Mumzie had a very loving relationship with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Unruffled under any circumstances she was a gentle guide to us all with her serene nature and always positive outlook. She is survived by her brother Vincent Coletta, children Fran Williams Hamilton, Mike Williams, Steve Williams, George Williams, Martha Williams Gallegos and Bear Williams; fourteen of fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
