Joan Edna Schurr Bierds, 76, of Saint Petersburg, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 25, 2017. She was united in marriage to Harold Richard (Dick) Bierds on October 22, 1960, in Long Island, New York before moving to Florida. Joan leaves behind her husband, Dick Bierds of 56 years, two sons, Richard Anthony and Michael Andrew and his wife Kimberly, two granddaughters, Amber Rose Selph and Jessica Kate Bierds, and two great grandsons, Zackery Edward Tisdell and Alexzander Ryan Tisdell, and many other wonderful family members and friends.
Joan enjoyed working at Maas Brothers for ten years before she landed her dream job at Sue's Card Shop. Family and friends could always count on a card from Joan for any occasion. What joy these five years would bring unwrapping a new box of sentiments or displaying the newest Precious Moments figurine on the store shelf and most likely in her personal collection too.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017, at 1:00pm at Joan and Dick's long time church home, Cornerstone Community Church at 6745 38th Ave. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33710.
