Joan Dorothy Muller, 85, of Maitland, FL, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2021. Beloved daughter, wife and mother. She was born on May 17, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA.

She is predeceased by her parents Kenneth H. Nickerson and Dorothy Ochs and survived by her husband of 65 years Charles "Charlie" J. Muller, her children Cynthia M. (John) Owen, Charles Jr. (Samie) Muller, Joanmarie "Marie" (Drew) Lucas and William K. (Veronica) Muller; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Joan graduated from Daytona Beach High School in 1953. She went on to study Accounting at University of Florida. She met Charles J. Muller in 1955. They were married on July 21, 1956 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Daytona Beach, FL and thus they began their adventures in the Navy. Together they raised their children while station in different Navy locations. Upon settling in Altamonte Springs in 1974, Joan worked as a Teller and Loan Officer at Fairwinds Credit Union for a few years, then a Secretary and a Bookkeeper for 20 years. She retired from Lake Sybelia Elementary School and began the next chapter; focusing on children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoying life to its fullest.
She enjoyed spending time at the beach (she loved and those beach hot dogs!), tent camping (which instilled our love of the outdoors and nature), quilting classes and all types of needlework, reading (her Bible or the latest best seller), painting (she gave as gifts), dancing (we loved watching her and Dad dance), and playing piano. Joan had a love of teaching; whether it was a perfect grilled cheese sandwich Bible classes, or Sign Language to the First Grade classes. She was an artist and a beautiful person inside and out.

Joan was also brave, adventurous, strong, compassionate, and kind. She fought a courageous battle of Dementia, and we are so grateful that we had her with us for so long. We will miss her smile, laughter, and her kind ways of always thinking of others.

Relatives and friends will be received at A Celebration of Life held on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 9001 N. Orlando Avenue, Maitland, FL 23751. A Catholic Mass is scheduled for Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10:00am, located at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 861 Maitland Avenue, Altamonte Springs, FL 32707. A private family reception will be held afterwards.
