FLOEGEL, JOAN (nee McGRATH)
With the same grace, dignity, and courage that she lived her life, Joan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 7, 2014.The beloved wife of Alfred J. Floegel for 56 years, Joan was born in Queens, NY to Mary Hehir McGrath and Christopher J. McGrath on August 4, 1934. She was a Rochester, NY resident for 49 years, graduating from Our Lady of Mercy High School and Nazareth College. The Floegels moved to Florida in 1988 to be near their family. Joan was a devoted mother to sons, Patrick (wife Maureen) and Mark (wife Adrienne). Her dearest treasures were her grandchildren Kathleen (Brandon) Vogt, Christopher (Megan) Floegel, Elizabeth Floegel (Brian Charif), Lejla Zbacnik and great grandchildren Isaiah, Teresa, and Augustine Vogt. Joan and her husband are Head Sacristans at St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Joan was also a Eucharistic Minister in the parish for many years and a member of the St. Theresa's Circle of the Council of Catholic Women. Joan is also survived by many cherished friends both in Rochester and in Florida. Visitation and rosary (Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 6-8 pm) and Mass of Christian Burial (Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 11 am) will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fr. Ed's Vocation Fund or The Peace Orphanage (via St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church)
