Jimmie Lou Pena, A free spirit, who loved life, family, friends, traveling and playing golf. She was near to us all and will be missed by many.
Born in Golden Springs, Alabama on November 28, 1938, She moved with her family to Lockhart, Florida in 1950. In 1957 she married the Love of her Life, John Pena, Sr. - a member of the US Air Force, stationed at McCoy AFB. In 1958 they moved to NYC where their 1st child Terry was born. Subsequently they moved to Brooklyn where Debbie and John Jr. were born. In 1963 they moved back to Central Florida and in 1964 they gave birth to their last child Jeff.
Their house was always filled with lots of love, laughter and lots and lots of family & friends. In 1996 John passed away after a valiant fight with lung cancer.
In the years following, Jimmie Lou found a new, rich, and satisfying life, always with the comfort and knowledge of John's love. She moved to Longwood in 1997 and became very active in her community as well in her Church Community. Over the years she continually surrounded herself with new friends as well as old and an ever growing family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Louise Sparks, her loving husband of 39 years, John W. Pena, Sr.. She is survived by her children, Theresa (Pena) & Albert Johnson, Deborah (Pena) & Chuck Huang, John Pena, Jr. & Julie, Jeffrey Pena & Sharon, 9 Grandchildren, Nicole, Grant, Amanda, Lindsay, Minnie, Emily, Kari, Jeffery, & J.P., and 5 Great Grandchildren; Iris, Logan, Wade, Ava, and Audrey.
