Jewell D. Johnson, 82, has passed away in Orlando, FL. She was born in Kaplan, LA, to parents Theard and Della Duhon.
Jewell met David Johnson at a ballroom dancing class in New Orleans. They were married on December 26, 1958. She was a homemaker most of her life and worked as a travel agent. She was a long-standing parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, Florida. There she was involved in several ministries and faith studies.
Jewell enjoyed traveling, reading, music, word puzzles, the Hallmark Channel, EWTN and spending time with family and friends.
She loved the Lord. She was consecrated to Jesus through the Blessed Virgin Mary and to Divine Mercy. She had many devotions including the Holy Souls in Purgatory. She was in the Confraternity of Consolers and a Marian Missionary of Divine Mercy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Johnson; and her brothers Charles Duhon and Brian Duhon. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Johnson and Pamela Kendrick Johnson; daughter, Kathleen Johnson; and grandsons Nicholas Johnson and Anthony Johnson.
