Jesus Oliva Reyes, age 97 of Orlando, Fl passed away at his residence on August 9, 2021. Jesus was born on August 17, 1923 in Jiguani Cuba, the son of Jesus Oliva Escalante and Mercedes Reyes Benitez
He was proceeded in death by his wife Esther and is survived by his only daughter Mary Ann Newhouse (Kenneth) of Raleigh, N.C., grandchildren Stephen Newhouse (Vanessa) of Greensboro N.C and Stephanie (Scott) Martin of Atlanta GA. He is also great grandfather to Raelin Newhouse and Lukas and Ethan Martin. He is also survived by his brother Efrain Oliva Reyes of Beverly Hills, Fl. and numerous nieces and nephews in Cuba and the United States
In his younger years he worked in the printing/bookbinding trades as a bookbinder in New York City and was a proud member of Union GCIU- Local -119B most of his life.
Jesus touched many lives and was a devoted husband to his now deceased wife Esther and was also a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather
He was married to his beloved Esther for over 70 years. In addition, Jesus was also a gifted artist and poet of which many people were unaware.
He was a life long loyal church goer and devoted Christian attending his final years at Iglesia Bautista Hispana de Church at the Cross Orlando with Esther since 2018 in his latter years.
