Jessie Ruth Neudigate
October 31, 1931 - February 15, 2017
Jessie Ruth Neudigate, 85, passed away peacefully in Hospice care in Altamonte Springs, Florida on February 15, 2017. Ruth lived a full and joyful life. She often shared fond memories of growing up in Sheffield, Alabama. As a young woman she moved to Miami, Florida where she met her husband, Bobbie Lee Neudigate. They had 6 beautiful children: Douglas, Deborah, Richard, Tammie, Michael, and Rebecca.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Neudigate, and her son, Douglas Neudigate. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Kilmon, her son Richard Neudigate and daughter-in-law Fran, her daughter Tammie Channin and (future) son-in-law Michael Schiro, son Michael Neudigate and daughter-in-law Cynthia, daughter Rebecca Freet and son-in-law Jim, and daughter-in-law Joyce Neudigate; as well as 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Spending time with her family, traveling to the mountains, Thanksgiving trips to Fort Pierce, Myrtle Beach getaways, cooking for friends and family (especially her chicken and dumplings), dining out, and her chihuahua (Gizmo) were just a few of her favorite things during her time on earth. After raising her family, she continued her love for children and nannied for several families until retirement. Jessie had a strong Christian faith and always found it important to share that faith with her children and grandchildren. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 73:26: My flesh and my heart faileth, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. She often quoted the Serenity Prayer: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
