Obituary

Jerry was born February 29, 1952 in Buckhannon, WV and was adopted in Amherst, OH by his late parents, Jack D. & Flora B. Blackford, former owners of the IGA Grocery in Tavares. He grew up in Tavares, FL and was currently residing in Mt. Plymouth, FL.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife Barbara Morris, son Michael Francis Blackford, "Twin Sister" Merry Kay Crum, niece Amanda Hall & husband Jeffrey Hall. Also Tony & Nakia Morris. Granddaughters Reyli & Zoey, Greg Morris, Victoria Morris and granddaughter Jordan, all living in Lake County. He also has 2 nieces, Kayla Baker, Okahumpka, FL & Alice Smith, Martinsburg, PA, and other family in Ohio.

Jerry graduated from Tavares high school in 1970. Jerry was a roofer by trade. He was known by a majority of his family and friends as "The Fog". He enjoyed life in all it had to offer. He was a former bass guitarist with Maiden Voyage & Full Tilt.

He dearly loved his dog Sonny, music, the beach, hiking, and searching for waterfalls in Tennessee with Barbara. He loved taking people out on his sailboat, camping with his friends Scott & Laurie Payne, and just getting off the beaten path as an opportunity to see all the sights. Most of all, he loved spending time with family & friends. He never met a stranger and he was loved by all.

Jerry suffered multiple injuries in a motorcycle accident on 12-3-2013 and left us peacefully on 12-6-2013 in Orlando, FL.

He will be forever loved and forever missed by his family, friends and former band mates.
He will be looking after all of us until we meet again.
We love you, Jerry....
