Jerome Ravenna, age 58, of Clermont, Florida, passed away on August 31, 2021. Jerome was born on November 13, 1962 in Hollywood, Florida, the son of Vincent and Marjorie Ann (Ferguson) Ravenna.
Preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Michele. Jerome is survived by his wife Cherise D. (Gazie) Ravenna; his daughter Katie Ravenna; mother-in-law Patricia Gazie; Nephews Brendan Gazie; Noah (Shirley) Ravenna; Nieces Sarah (Joey) Green; Monica (Jason) Thorne; and Brother-in-law Derrick Gazie.
Jerome was born and raised in Hollywood, Florida. He attended South Broward High School and was in the marching band and went on to the University of Miami where he was in the band of the hour. Jerome had a great passion for music & the arts and he played the flute and piccolo. He held a Doctorate of Education degree which he earned from Nova Southeastern University.
His love of film production led him to move to Orlando, Florida where he pursued a career in the film and television department at Walt Disney World. He had many fond memories of working in this department, and helping to open the original MGM Studios and Epcot. While in the Orlando area he also worked for Universal Studios in their film department.
Jerome married Cherise (Gazie) Ravenna in June of 2000. They were married for 21 years.
They adopted their daughter Katie Michele (at the age of 4) from China in 2010.
Jerome also had another passion which was cruising. He worked onboard for Royal Caribbean Cruise lines. He loved sailing and always talked about his memories with all his friends he made while working onboard the ships. He talked his wife into joining him and they worked together onboard Royal Caribbean ships several years making many new friends from around the world and experiencing many new places. While working bingo onboard the ships his nickname was Jackpot Jerome and others knew him as J-E to the ROME.
He was truly blessed with the gift of talking and loved to meet new people. He was not a shy person, he loved public speaking and being on a microphone. He was the life of a party and would light up a room. Sarcasm was one of the many services he offered. He could make anyone laugh or smile.
Moving back to the Orlando area and living only minutes away from "Happy Land" as he called it, allowed him to visit Walt Disney World and the Magic Kingdom often with is family. He loved going to the theme parks and spending time with his family.
