It is with great sadness that the family of Jeffrey Steven Byrd (Jeff) announces his passing on February 3, 2018 at the age of 50. Jeff will be lovingly remembered by his children, Steven M. Byrd (Samantha), Elizabeth N. Byrd and youngest son, Matthew T. Byrd and Jeff's five grandchildren. He will also be missed by sister, Melanie B. Steinmetz (John), brother, Richard V. Byrd (Cathy), and Catherine L. VonTalge (Richard), and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Rex A. and Susan S. Byrd of Lake Mary.
Jeff was born in Sanford in 1967 and was a lifelong resident. He honorably served his country as a sailor in the United State Navy and thereafter was a lifelong employee of Sunniland Corporation in Sanford. Jeff's favorite pastimes were fishing, carpentry, and his love of animals.
A celebration of Jeff's life will be held at a date and time to be determined.
