Obituary

On Wednesday, September 7th, 2022, Jeff Johansen, at the age of 60, departed this world and
is now resting in perfect joy in the presence of his Lord and Savior. Jeff was a loving husband to
Jodee Johansen and father to Katie Tallman and Karin Johansen. He is also survived by his
brothers: Christian (Gabriele) Johansen, Erik (Missy) Johansen, and Nick (Lisa) Johansen as
well as his step-mother Joyce Johansen.

Jeff was born on July 21, 1962 to Gerald and Judith (Mitchell) Johansen in Omaha, Nebraska
where he grew up. He lived most of his adult life in Iowa and Indiana, spending the most recent
years residing in Florida. He placed his faith in Jesus Christ during his high school years. He
received an associate's degree in Psychology from Iowa Western Community College and a
bachelor's degree in Pastoral Theology from Faith Baptist Bible College.

Jeff had a passion for photography, teaching classes formally and going on picture-taking
adventures with friends. His daughters and wife can attest to his insistence to document life via
photograph. He was known for his energetic antics and made everyone around him laugh,
making friends wherever he went. He was actively involved in the Cornerstone Community
Church men's ministry. He also loved to write. He worked passionately and tirelessly on his
favorite writing project, The Cat Who Grinned, a continuation of the beloved series by Lillian
Jackson Braun. He developed a tight-knit community of people while working on this project. He
recently finished the book and was in the process of obtaining permission from Ms. Braun's
estate to publish his book.

"Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough
room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a
place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with
me where I am." – John 14:1-3

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions toward efforts to publish and print his book.
We are accepting contributions through Venmo to Jodee Johansen @CatWhoGrinnedFund.
