Obituary

Jean W. Morris, 88 of Casselberry, Florida passed away December 21, 2018. Mrs. Morris was born February 15, 1930 in Trenton, Florida to Hector and Gladys Wade. She was the youngest of 8 children. She grew up in Ocala with family and graduated from Ocala High School in 1948. She moved to Tallahassee, FL to further her education where she pledged Pi Beta Phi, Florida Beta Chapter. She later graduated from Florida State University in 1952 with a B.S in Business Administration.

Jean was united in holy matrimony to John Morris on August 16th, 1952. They later were blessed with four children; Nina, Ray, Tom, and Janet. The family spent time living in North Carolina and Maryland before settling back in Florida. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Morris in 2004.

After spending many years as a homemaker, she embarked on a career in the floral industry. She was a floral designer and co-owner of a floral business. Some of her favorite things in life were spending time with her family, traveling, painting, playing the piano, creating floral arrangements, and participating in bible study groups. She was a charter member and long time parishioner of The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection where she was instrumental in starting the Flower Guild and participated in both the Altar Guild and Flower Guild over the next few decades. She was an active member and Past-President of Sweetwater Oaks Garden Club. Jean was recognized for Meritorious Service for the American Heart Association. As a result of her generous spirit and outgoing personality she was loved by many.

Mrs. Morris is survived by sister, Mrs. J.C. (Gladys) Milligan, her children; Nina Morris Marks (Chuck), William Ray Morris (Elise), John Thomas Morris (Patti), Janet Lynn Morris, her grandchildren; Nathan Marks (Jennifer), Paul Marks (Shellie), Katie Marks, Steven Morris (Chelsea), Brian Morris (Molly), Matt Morris, and her great-grandchildren; Malic, Ryder, Chanley, Benjamin, Landon, Gabrielle, Caleb, Sophia, and Will. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Her influence in our lives will remain and she will be forever cherished.

A memorial service will be held on February 16, 2019 at 3:00pm at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 251 E. Lake Brantley Dr., Longwood, Florida.
