In Loving Memory of
Jean C. Hudson
April 27, 1924 - January 18, 2014

Jean Porter Caskey Hudson, age 89, passed away Saturday, Jan 18, 2014, at the Vineyard Inn, in Largo, Florida, under Hospice Care, with her daughter, Judith at her bedside.
Mrs. Hudson was born on April 27, 1924, in Columbia, Tennessee and came to St. Petersburg as a child. She married George William Hudson on March 12, 1944, in her grandmother Sarah Porter Dooley�s home in the Euclid area of St. Petersburg.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George William Hudson, mother, Mary Porter Dooley Caskey, father, Thomas Burney Caskey, and her brother, William Bryant �Billie� Caskey.
Survived by: Daughter, Judith Gail Hudson Cunningham, (Edward Russell)Grandchildren, Jennifer Sara Cunningham Ross, (Robert E.), Clearwater, FL, Suzanne Michelle Cunningham, St. Petersburg, FL, Patrick Russell Cunningham, St. Petersburg, FL.
A private graveside service was held at Royal Palm Cemetery, with the Rev. Don Keeling officiating.
A memorial service will be held on Feb. 23, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Cornerstone Community Church, 6745 38th Av. N, St. Petersburg, FL.
Jean attended local schools, including Roser Park Elementary, Mirror Lake Junior High School, and graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1942. She also attended St. Petersburg Junior College. She worked for Union Trust Bank in the bookkeeping department, for Louise Ainsworth China and Gift shop as a sales clerk, and at The First Congregational Church in downtown St. Petersburg, as an office assistant. She also helped her husband in their heating and air conditioning business. Jean was a member of Cornerstone Community Church, and a former member of the St. Petersburg Garden Club, and R.S.E.S., a refrigeration society. She was an assistant Brownie and Girl Scout leader, taught Sunday School, and assisted in Christian Youth Crusaders at her church. She enjoyed gardening, counted cross stitch, and was an avid reader. Even when her eyesight failed, she enjoyed listening to many books on tape.
The family is extremely appreciative of the staff at The Vineyard Inn for their loving care and kindness to our dear mother and grandmother, to the wonderful Hospice nurses who gave so much to her in her final days, and to her Pastor, Rev. Don Keeling, and to all her Cornerstone Church friends who were faithful with their cards and visits. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to each of you.
