Jean Allan Alf was born September 16, 1932 in Spooner, Wisconsin to Beatrice and Allan Bibby. Spending her very early years in Spooner, then moving to the Bibby farm in Ettrick, she kept busy helping with all the daily chores of living on a dairy farm.

Jean attended Hardies Creek School, a one-room schoolhouse until high school, and graduated from Galesville High School in May 1951. She was active in many school activities and 4-H. Jean was especially fond of high school sports and her love of football remained her entire life. Jean was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers and, after moving to Texas, also became a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. When the Packers and Cowboys played, Jean was known to change her jersey at half-time to support both teams. She was always eager to cheer on "her" teams!

After high school, Jean attended beauty school, where she met her husband Jerry. They married on June 27, 1953, at Hardies Creek Lutheran Church. Jean and Jerry had three children: Linda, Vicki, and John. After moving from Wisconsin to Pennsylvania, Jean accomplished getting her driver's license—something she never really cared for but quickly realized the necessity of having. While living in Pennsylvania, Jean enjoyed visiting the Amish country along with the many historical sites in the area with loved ones. The family's next move was to Atlanta in 1969, then Fort Lauderdale, back to Atlanta, then to Reading, Pennsylvania. In 1975 the Alfs moved to Dallas, Texas, where Jean put her foot down and swore she would never move again.

Jean worked at a baseball card printing company for many years. She enjoyed league bowling with friends, attending Texas Rangers games, and the occasional visit to the horse track. While working for the baseball card company, Jean accumulated a large collection of autographs and memorabilia and participated in the "All Star" event week at Ranger Stadium. One of Jean's prized possessions was a gift she received because of Nolan Ryans strikeout record. She was also photographed on the printing line which was printed in a baseball card collectors magazine.
After moving to Florida in 2010, Jean was blessed to make many memories with family. She so enjoyed sharing time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jean traveled to Monaco with her husband Jerry and to Europe with her daughter Linda's family. Jean spoke of the wonderful memories made during those trips, especially about her seeing the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany. It was a cherished, lifelong memory.

Jean was a very kind, giving, and loving mom, grandma, and friend. She loved her family so much and cherished time spent together with all. Jean was always eager to share a good meal—especially if oysters and a cold beer were on the menu. Having a laugh with Jean was something you never forgot-a good belly laugh with her was always memorable!

Jean is survived by her children, Linda and husband Dr. Jim McAleer of Longwood, Florida; Vicki Higgins of Smithville, New Jersey; and John and Pam Alf of Eugene, Oregon. She also had six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents Beatrice and Allan Bibby, brother Richard Bibby, and husband Jerry Alf.

All who knew and loved Jean will keep the beautiful memories and precious times spent with her always in our hearts. Though she is gone from our sight, she will remain in our hearts forever.
