Jasso Gobin, also known as Aunty Sherry to friends, and Nanny to loved ones, died peacefully at home at the age of 73, on July 9th, 2024 in Ocoee, FL surrounded by her family.
Jasso survived by her 3 daughters, Paruna Narine, Mohini Chamhitt also known as Maya, and Hematie Baker; her 4 grandchildren, Nicholas Chamhitt, Michael Chamhitt, Shanna Chamhitt, and Devin Narine; her 3 son-in-laws, Krishna Chamhitt, Arthur Baker (also known as Andy), and Daren Narine; and her brother, Sieunarine Nanan, and her sister, Hanumati Singh. Jasso was preceded by her husband, Bridgenath Barlow Gobin; and her siblings Lalita Baboolal, Sugan Arjoon, Phulmatie Singh, Lalchan Jadoonanan, and Indradath Jadoonanan.
Jasso was born February 13th,1951 in Moruga, Trinidad and Tobago, to Jadoo Nanan and Ramdolari Nanan. She married Bridgenath in the year of 1969, and later brought her three daughters into the world. She worked hard after her husband's death on February 11th, 1989 to bring her daughters to the United States where she worked as a nanny in Long Island, NY, taking care of Perrie and Carly Rumstein, daughters of Steve and Rene Rumstein. After hearing the birth of her first and only grand-daughter, Shanna, she made the sacrifice to move to Orlando, FL with her grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael and Shanna. She spent 22 years in Orlando, FL , where she lived with Hema and Maya. She enjoyed singing at the temple and being amongst her spiritual community.
She lived her last days in the glory of Lord Krishna.
The funeral is scheduled for 10am - 12pm at DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory on Monday, July 15th, 2024. Pundit Ganesh Sukul will officiate the ceremony at 9001 N Orlando Ave, Maitland, FL 32751. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Jasso (Aunty Sherry/Nanny).
