Janet Coddington Kmetz-Morlock (91) of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 7, 2021, in the comfort of her home. Jan (Mim, as she was affectionately called by her family) was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was known for her outgoing and exuberant personality. Always quick witted and full of life, she was a force to be reckoned with.

Born in Matawan, New Jersey in 1929, Jan spent her formative years residing in Teaneck, NJ. She attended Columbia University, where as an accomplished clarinet player she performed at Carnegie Hall. After college she began working for New Jersey Bell where she met and later married Ray Kmetz.

In 1957 she and Ray moved to Succasunna, NJ, where they started their family and raised their three children. During her life in Succasunna, she was a founding member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Jan was also active in the Roxbury Women's Club and was a swim instructor for Roxbury Recreation Department for many years. In 1985 she married her second husband, George Morlock, and shortly after they moved to Central Florida to be closer to family.

Jan was a longtime, active member of Salem Lutheran Church and cared deeply for her church family. Jan had a love for all children and decided to come out of retirement and spend many more years passionately teaching swim lessons and working in the Orange County School System. Her work included teacher's aide with special education students and as a crossing guard.

She was a talented cross stitcher who loved to gift others with her wonderful creations. She was a cherished friend to many people, who will all attest she never met a stranger and took pride in talking about her family. She was exceptionally proud to be the matriarch of the beautiful family she created. It was in her family that she found her deepest joys in life. She will be forever missed by the many lives she touched. "Sweet Angels, Mimi."

Jan was preceded in death by her husband(s) Raymond Kmetz; George Morlock; her parents Walter & Esther Coddington and her sister Judy McDonald.

Jan leaves behind her three children; Judith Paschal (Don); Jeffrey Kmetz (Karie) and Joel Kmetz (Donna). Six grandchildren; Tamara West (David), Rebecca Wilcox (Brandee), Whitney Kessler (Andrew), Ryan Kmetz (Lauren), Tyler Kmetz (Alison) and Carleigh Kmetz. Five great-grandchildren Brandon Wilcox, Brianna Wilcox, Trey West, Kendall West & Charlie Kmetz.

A Celebration of Life in her honor will be held for family only (in person), due to Covid-19 restrictions, on April 10, 2021 at 11am.
