James A. Pistocco, 69, Winter Springs, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 with his family at his side.

Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, he moved to Long Island, New York as a young boy. Jim was a graduate of East Rockaway High School, where he met his love, Rosanne McCormack. Jim and Rosanne were married for 47 years and raised two children together. In 1994, they moved down south where together they enjoyed the warm weather, sunshine and beauty of Central Florida.

As a young man, Jim earned a black belt in karate and made fitness a priority his entire life. He enjoyed many different activities including running, biking, boxing and strength training. Jim was a mechanic by trade and could fix anything from a car to a wristwatch. He had a lengthy career as a maintenance manager in the waste industry before retiring in 2009.

Jim was an animal lover and had many pets, including his beloved cat, Simba. He enjoyed being outdoors surrounded by nature. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting national parks, where he would hike, bike, ride horses and simply be in awe of the scenic beauty. You could always find Jim working in the garden caring for his plants and trees. He also enjoyed cooking and focused mostly on creating Italian and Asian dishes. Jim was a true "family man" and took great pride in caring for and protecting his wife, children and grandchildren.

Jim was loved dearly by his family. He leaves behind his wife, Rosanne; his daughter, Jeanine Soteres (and her husband Ryan Soteres) of Yorba Linda, California; his son, Paul Pistocco of Orlando, Florida; his two granddaughters, Angelina Pistocco and Olivia Soteres; and his niece, Danielle Paras of East Rockaway, New York.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held this summer.
