James "Gym" R. Lowery, 83, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at his home with his family by his side.

James was born on February 8, 1942 in Uniontown, PA, the son of Anna Lowery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Comiskey.

James was a beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. James served in the United States Army for four years and is a veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post #51, Amvets General George C. Marshall Post #103, North Union VFW 8543, and the American Legion Riders. #1 Steelers Fan!

James is survived by his son, Ryan Lowery, of Uniontown, PA, sister, Linda Richter of Uniontown, PA, brother, Tom Comiskey of Pt. Marion, PA, nephews, Jimmy Everson of Morgantown, WV, and Jackie W. Comiskey of Lemont Furnace, PA, niece, Shaina Ganoe of Pt. Marion, PA, great niece, Carla Richter of Lemont Furnace, PA and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family will be received in the DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 65 N. Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, PA, 15401, Stacey A. Dolfi, FD on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM. A service will be held in the funeral home at 5:00 PM. Inurnment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd., Bridgeville, PA 15017 on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 10:30 AM where military rites will be accorded.
