On August 22, 2022, James R. Knutson peacefully passed away at the age of 78.

Jim is survived by his wife Lucia; his two daughters, Elizabeth (Heath) Steen, and Katherine Root; four grandchildren; and his sister Ann (William) Seeberger.

Jim was born in Owatonna, Minnesota. He graduated from Luther College in Iowa, and was immediately drafted into the Army where he became an Officer in the field of artillery. He did tours of duty in Korea and Germany. Jim met Lucia while stationed in Germany, she was there teaching English. Jim was Divisions Operations Manager for ground and air shipments in the Southeast for small package delivery service. He was a Certified Energy Auditor. He owned Knutson Property Inspections. Later he was Assistant Project manager in a building Luxury Apartment Campus.

Jim enjoyed life and always had a smile on his face. He had the biggest heart and kindest eyes. Family and faith were most important to Jim. As a member of Maitland Presbyterian Church, he was very involved over the years and served as an Elder.

A celebration of life for Jim Knutson is scheduled for September 3,2022 at 2:00, at Maitland Presbyterian Church. Cookies and punch will be served after the service.

The family asks that donations be sent to Maitland Presbyterian Church or Advent Health Hospice in lieu of flowers.
