James Cleveland Holmes, Jr. was born to James Cleveland Holmes, Sr. and Bessie Marie Alexander on May 16, 1958 in New York City, New York. James' parents moved to Eatonville, Florida where he grew up and attended Hungerford Elementary School and graduated from Wymore Tech High School in Eatonville, Florida.

James grew up in church and he loved the Lord. His heart was his daughter Shantel and he loved his family. No matter when you saw James, he would greet you with a smile.

He was loved and respected by those who knew him. He will be truly missed.
On September 26, 2020, James was called to his eternal resting place.

James was preceded in death by his parents: James Cleveland Holmes, Sr. and Bessie Marie Alexander.

James leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving daughter Shantel Holmes, Valdosta Ga; brothers, Lawrence Coppedge, Harold Holmes (Evelyn), Greenville, NC; Sisters, Yvonne Brookins, Sheila Dorsey, Altamonte Springs, FL; great aunt, Mable Hall, Orlando, FL; nieces, Marcy, Anita, Valerie, Necia, Kimberly; Nephews, Noel, Anton; cousin, John Moore and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.

A celebration of his life will occur at 11:00am, Friday, October 9th, 2020 at DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 9001 Orlando Ave, Maitland, FL 32751.
