Jim entered this world on March 3rd and made his final flight on the same day 95 years later.
Jim grew up in the Chicago area and at the age of 19 got his private pilots license in anticipation of the needs of World War II.
He served a total of 14 years in the Navy both active and reserves. He flew 29 different planes over his military career, and never lost his love of flying.
Jim used the G.I Bill to go to Clemson and University of Florida, married the love of his life, Ann, and settled down to raise a family and work for the Bayer Corporation for most of his life.
When Jim retired, he took up raising Oranges which kept him busy but he always had time to fiddle around, repair something or figure out how something worked.
Jim was a man who made many friends both young and old. He was always curious about new things. He loved to tell a good story or listen one. He was always devoted to this faith.
Jim was predeceased by his son Kevin. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Ann, daughter Lenora Hollis, sons, Shaun Flavin, and Tim Flavin. Also 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Besides his family he will be greatly missed by numerous nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.
