James Albert Dougherty, 71, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. He was born on March 3, 1945 in Hazleton, PA. to Thomas and Leona Dougherty. He was a devoted husband to Eleanor K. Dougherty for 49 years and a loving father to sons, James H. Dougherty and Michael T. Dougherty and daughter, Maria K. Conte; daughter-in-law Cindy Dougherty and son-in-law, Matthew Conte. He was a beloved Pappy to his grandchildren, Jamie Dougherty, Emily Dougherty, Aiden Conte and Liam Conte and his great grandchildren, Lily Hamilton and Jaiden Mathis. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in-law, Thomas and Dolores Dougherty and Conrad and Marion Dougherty, sister-in-law, Geraldine Dougherty and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Carmela Howey, in addition to numerous nieces & nephews. He was also an adoring dad to his beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Rusty.

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 12:30PM at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 U.S. Highway 1, North, Mims, Florida 32754
