“James Thomas Doran Jr., 71, passed away on October 3, 2026. Born in Miami on April 8, 1955, to the late Marjorie and James Thomas Doran Sr., Jim lived a full life centered on dedication to his country, service to his community, and devotion to his family.

A standout athlete in his youth, Jim went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps for two years. Following his military service, he earned his degree from St. Thomas University. He then embarked on a dedicated 39-year career with the United States Postal Service, where his steady work ethic touched many lives. After retiring from the postal service, Jim remained active in his community through various part-time roles, finding particular joy and fulfillment in his work as a school crossing guard for the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

Above all else, Jim was a devoted family man. He shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Paulina Doran. Together, they raised three sons: Steven, Tomas, and Daniel.

An avid sports enthusiast, Jim loved playing and watching both golf and tennis, and he remained a lifelong, faithful fan of Miami football. However, his ultimate sporting passion was reserved for his cherished New York Yankees. He enjoyed watching them on TV and occasionally going to their games.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Paulina; his three sons, Steven, Tomas, and Daniel; eight cherished grandchildren Austin, Emily, Nora, Kate, Peyton, Jack, Hazel, and Easton; along with extended family and dear friends who will miss his sarcastic humor, sharp memory, and steadfast dedication.”
