On May 2 Jim closed his eyes and rested in peace in the arms of Our Blessed Virgin.
He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Becky; his sons, James Blades and Jamie Cheviron;
his grandchildren, Colette, Nicki and Ryan; his daughter, Jennifer, pre-deceased him on
January 31, 2022. He also leaves behind a sister, brother, and many nieces and nephews as
well as great nieces and nephews.
He had many successes in this worldly life, however, his passions were singing and baseball.
He said his first question to God would be "How many songs do I really know?" His family
feels blessed to have been a part of his wonderful life. As he said many times, he would know
he was in heaven when God told him he needed a new second baseman.
Jim was very active in his church, St Timothy Catholic Church in Lutz, Fl. There will be a
celebration
of Life at the church on May 29, 2025 with visitation at 10:00am and Mass at 11:00am with a
reception in the hall immediately afterward. All are invited to remember the wonderful times of
his life.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Moffitt Cancer Center or the Humane Shelter of the Nature
