James Carlton Crawford, age 83, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, passed away on
July 9, 2022. He was born on May 26, 1939, in Winter Garden, Florida, the son of
the late James H. and Mary Lou Crawford. "Big Jim" as he was known to his
family and friends attended Lakeview High School and served in the U.S. Army in
the 60th Air Defense Artillery Regiment from 1957–1960.

For more than 35 years, Jim was an active member of the Central Florida Officials
Association, working as an official in high school football and basketball games
throughout the metro Orlando area. Working with young people involved in
athletics was his true joy and passion. "Big Jim" was also a huge Florida Gators
fan. When attending his Celebration of Life service, please wear orange and blue in
his memory.

"Big Jim" is survived by his wife Harriet Ann Crawford; children, Richard "Rick"
Crawford (Casi), Theresa "Traci" Burns (Bill), Lisa Hallmark (Jerry), and Tina
Compton (Bill); grandchildren Aubry Joannes (Chris), Maddi Rimando (Brandon),
Riley Crawford, and Cody Compton; great-grandchildren Mason Joannes, Dylan
and Aspyn Robinson; and brother Larry Crawford.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 13, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm
at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory, Maitland Chapel; reception to follow.
