Jay Rogers, 69, passed away peacefully on 7 May, 2022 after a short illness.
Jay spread joy wherever he went, always with a smile on his face, and knew the value of hard work. An avid Artist, Jay loved making Pottery, Jewelry, and making the world a greener place with a thumb that would make you jealous. Traveling whenever he could, Jay would often drive to the Bat Caves of Mexico and bring back the secret ingredient to his famous "Jay Dirt".
Jay found additional joy late in life through his love of boating when he joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He dedicated his free time to public service providing Recreational Boating Safety Courses, Vessel Inspections, and was trusted with protecting the waterways of the Gulf Coast during Space Shuttle Launches.
Honest and upfront, Jay was always there to listen and his advice was always straightforward, well thought out, and memorable.
He is survived by his loving sons, Whitney (Lina) and Steven, his brothers, Billy (Gloria) and Rick, two grandchildren, three nephews, one niece, one great-niece, many cousins and friends and his extended family, the Branche's and Grafton's who always welcomed him into their homes as he welcomed them, even after their paths parted. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lolly, and his brother, Mark.
A Celebration of Life will be at Unity Orlando, 4801 Clarcona Ocoee Road, Orlando FL 32810 on Sunday, June 12, at 2:00 PM. Please bring your memories and stories to share.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Local Coast Guard Auxiliary.
The family of Jay Rogers invites you to leave a message of condolence on the Tribute Wall created in his loving memory.
