Obituary

Irene Campbell, age 72 went to be with The Lord on April 14, 2014. Irene was a beloved wife, a loving mother to her four children, and an amazing VaVor and Grandmother to her ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. There was nothing more important to her than spending time with her family. She was the matriarch of a large family that adored and loved her very much. She was the organizer and the center of countless family activities and celebrations. She was the link that held the family chain together. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed. The family takes great comfort in knowing that she is now with her Lord, and those family members that pre-deceased her.

Irene was born January 14, 1942 in Rhode Island and relocated to Winter Springs, Florida in July of 1974. She worked tirelessly to raise and support her four children and took great pride in all of their accomplishments. She was extremely proud of her children; Ed, Scott, Cheryl and Kristen as well as her daughter in-law, Lori and her son in-laws; Sandy and David as she loved them and treated them as her own. Irene was a friend to anyone she met and touched the lives of many people. She was a constant source of encouragement for her family and friends. Irene was very generous and thought of everyone before herself. She never let anyone walk out of her home without a full stomach. Her neighbors and friends always knew they could show up unannounced at any time and would be welcomed with open arms and food on the stove.

Holidays were always a special time for Irene and her home was always the traditional gathering place. Irene could be found in the middle of every activity whether she was spending time with her grandchildren or sharing insightful advice to everyone that loved her. Her family is extremely grateful to have had so many wonderful experiences that have created memories to be cherished.

Irene lives on in all of the immeasurable and unique ways of every life she touched. Her smile and laugh will forever echo in the minds and hearts of everyone lucky enough to have known her.

Irene is survived by her loving husband, Ronald L. Campbell; her sons Edward and Scott (Lori) Forrest, her daughters Paula Thorson, Cheryl (David) Powers and Kristen (Sandy) Potts; her grandchildren Cindy (Andy) Richardson, Daniel (Candace) Forrest, Kyle Forrest, Amanda, Allison, Angela and David Powers II; Zachary, Jacob and Matthew Potts; her great grandchildren Leah, Blake and Alana Richardson, Dylan Forrest, Kinsley Forrest and Alyssa Powers; her sister Carol Ann Hurley; nephew William Hurley, and nieces Colleen Bedford and Tara Hurley.
