Obituary

Ines Vincents was born on March 4, 1934, to Mercedes Cepede-Vincents and Mariano
Vincents, who both were originally from Puerto Rico, but had her in Manhattan New York.
Ines was the second of four girls, but the first to graduate from Jane Addams High School in Bronx, New York. She was a seamstress for years and enjoyed sewing. She was very artistic, which was one of outstanding qualities. She was very considerate of others. She worked as a para-professional for years with special ed children, which she retired from the NY State Education System.
My mom was a single parent although she was married. She did her best to raise six children. Mercedes Torres, Johnny Ventura, Deborah Ventura, Mariano Ventura, George Ventura, and Esther Ventura (Grevious).
She went to LaGuardia Community College to further her education. I remembered it all too well because I often went to class with her, while working as a para-professional and that is where her artistic side shone the most. Teachers would complement her on the bulletin boards that she would make. I remember when she made one for Valetine's Day, which was also two presidents' birthday. She made each a big red heart and had the presidents in a white silhouette and place them inside. It was different and beautiful.
My mom had an extremely hard life. While raising her six children, she also had to take care of her aging father. She did not have much, but she knew how to make do with what she had. She kept us clean, neat, and well fed. Man, I going to miss her so much. She was always a part of my life, even before she lived with me in Florida. She took care of my children, spoiled them crazy. I love my mom, I knew this day was coming and I thought I could handle it well, but I am truly going to miss her. She made me the strong person I am today. No matter what we put her through, she was always right there wanting to be exactly who she was, our mom.
I know she is in Jehovah's memory and in the resurrection, I will see her again. I will be there to greet her with the tightest hug. Asking her, "Why did you leave me? I love you; I am sorry for all I have done or could not do for you. I miss you so much."
You had to know her, where she is from and what she has been through to understand. Nothing can ever replace her. She will always be in my heart, mind, and soul. And for those who thought she did not have strength, that is what helped her to Live to 90 years old.
