Degnan, Ines (Nessy) 94, of Lake Mary passed away on November 1, 2023. Nessy was the wife to the late Dr. Edward James Degnan (Jim). She is survived by, Edward (Barb) Degnan, Lake Mary, FL; and Dr. Michael (Mai) Degnan, Haines City, FL; Ines (Joseph) Golsan, Bryan, TX; and Mary (Lee) Rogers, Lake Mary, FL; 14 grandchildren and 14 (with one more on the way) great grandchildren. Nessy was born in New Haven, CT on May 28, 1929, daughter of the late Vincent P. and Ultima Robinson Dooley. She was predeceased by her sisters Carol Clark, Jean Dooley, Constance (Connie) Roderick and brothers Fenton, Richard "Dick" and Lawrence "Larry" Dooley. She was a graduate of Kenwood Academy of the Sacred Heart, Albany NY. She attended many colleges post-graduation and at the one that suited her best she met her husband, Jim Degnan. Nessy devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and eventually great grandchildren. While raising a family she was a resident of Delmar NY, Seminole FL, and Port Orange FL. While in NY she served in alumni organizations, board of elections, and local blood banks. In Seminole she began to volunteer by starting the Bay Pines Hospice group which led to over 40 years of volunteering in multiple facets of the organization. Based on her ability to engage individuals in conversation she culminated her work at hospice as one of the group leaders for bereavement groups. She was an avid reader, keen golfer and great cook. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Rd. Altamonte Springs FL. Arrangements handled by DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 N Orlando Ave, Maitland FL, 407-695-2273. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
