Obituary

Helen Dolores Riley, age 84, died on October 7th, 2018, in Daytona Beach, FL after a brief illness.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Lewis D Riley; daughters Cindy Vought and son-in-law Butch, Tracy Cornelius and son-in-law Chadd, sons Douglas Riley and daughter-in-law Connie and Mikel Riley and daughter-in-law Sharon, six grandchildren Brian Shobert, Jennifer Reed, Stacie Holdinsky, Ashton Daviston, Corbin Daviston and Logan Daviston plus eight great grandchildren and two on the way She is preceded in death by her parents Rachel and John Mutzabaugh and grandson Jeremy Riley.

Helen was born on March 1, 1934 in Bloomsburg Pa. She graduated from Danville Area High School in 1952. She moved to Harrisburg PA and accepted a position as switchboard operator for Bell Telephone. She found her true love Lew after a night a bowling in 1954. They married on January 2, 1955 at Pine St. Lutheran Church in Danville where they lived and built their family. The majority of her career was at Geisinger Medical Center where she worked as a switchboard operator and later as an administrative assistant in the neurology department. She retired in 1989 at the age of 55 and relocated to Bloomsburg. In 1994, they followed friends and moved to Osteen Florida.

Helen was a loving wife and mother. She was a social, active women who enjoyed going to church, going to the beach or pool, playing cards and especially playing bingo. For many years she enjoyed camping, but most of all she loved cruising with her family and friends. She will always be remembered as a kind, caring person and enjoyed being the life of the party.

A memorial luncheon was held at Kove Estates in Osteen Fl on October 11th. A memorial service is scheduled for November 1, 2018 at 11:00 in Pine St Lutheran Church, 407 Pine St, Danville PA with Reverend John Koon's officiating with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made at the American Heart Association, www2.heart.org.
