Helen V. McIlrath went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 10th, 2020, at the incredible age of 107.

She was born in Ambridge, Pennsylvania on November 24th, 1912 to John Kurowski and Ella Knowouska, she had 1 sister and 3 brothers and grew up in the Ambridge/Erie area.

Shortly after high school graduation, Helen left the family home to start a life of her own. For a number of years, she travelled to various states including North Carolina and Virginia. While in VA she met Jewel C. McIlrath a Navy sailor. They were married in Norfolk area shortly before his transfer to New London, Connecticut which was to be his next duty station.

Helen remained in New London to care for their growing family which eventually included 1 daughter and 3 sons. Her husband's last assignment was a recruiting office in Helena, Montana.

After his retirement, they moved to Renton, Washington where the family lived until 1949, when she decided they needed to go somewhere that was warm, which led them to Orlando, which was their permanent home.

Helen is predeceased by her parents, son Gary, brothers Marion, Robert, and John, and granddaughter Sherry.

She is survived by her sister, Steffie of PA, her daughter Joan of WA, sons: Timothy and Theodore of Orlando and Kenneth of TN, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 17th, 2020 at 10am on at Greenwood Cemetery.
