Helen Pauline Mazloom of Palm Coast, Florida passed into Heaven July 28, 2019 in Winter Garden, Florida. She was born to James M. Joseph and Josephine Joseph in Youngstown, Ohio on April 28, 1927, she was one of 13 children. Her father was a successful businessman and her mother was busy taking care of their family.

Mom met the love of her life, her "Muzzy" Joe, in Miami, where her family wintered in 1947. She was "smitten immediately" by Dad who was a City of Miami Police Officer, Mom would laugh and say it was the uniform that won her. Dad would later become a successful businessman too. They settled in a little house in Miami raising their 3 children, Joe, Candy and Denise.

Mom loved to cook and since she was of Lebanese heritage, we had wonderful Arabic food and pastries to enjoy. She and Dad were avid card players with their many longtime friends, and Mom was a great poker player, she always had incredible luck. Mom and Dad were one of the founding members of St. George Church in Coral Gables, attending there 50 years. During those years, her beautiful voice could be heard in the choir at St. George as well as the Sweet Adeline's a cappella singers. Also, both she and Dad were fixtures in the church kitchen preparing many celebratory parish meals. All of her dedicated work was honored, and she received the "Woman of the Year Award" in 1996. Mom's deep faith in God sustained her and she always prayed to Holy Theotokos, Mary, for her intercessions.

Mom was happiest when she was surrounded by family, especially her children Joe, twin daughters Candy and Denise and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children; Joe Mazloom (Kay), Candy Hart (Tom), Denise Ilmonen (Ed) as well as three grandchildren; Joe Mazloom, Jackie Vasquez and Brian McAvoy and five great grandchildren.

We all have a big hole in our hearts and will miss her beautiful smile and loving attention terribly. It brings us comfort to know that she is now with her love again, "Muzzy".
