Helen C. Lamb was born on May 21,1921 in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada. She was the last survivor of 8 siblings, being predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Lucy Codner and husband of 62 years Bill Lamb. Helen came to America at 6 months old and attended St. Joseph's Academy which later became St. James Church and school. She became a U.S citizen after the end of WWII and moved to College Park where she lived until her passing. Through different seasons of her life Helen volunteered her time as a leader for the Girl Scouts of the USA, at Lake Silver Elementary as a classroom volunteer assisting in Kindergarten reading, as an active member of the PTA, and worked as a bookkeeper for Herndon Ambulance which later became Rural Metro. Helen has been a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church since it was founded in 1954. During her time as a member of St. Charles she ministered to the sick, volunteered at Brother's Keeper Consignment Shop, a member of the CCW, was a member of the Rosary Society, attended weekly Adoration, was recognized in The Order of St. Charles, and was a member of the Carmelite Sisters.


Helen is survived by her 3 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
