Helen Louise Jamieson, 90 of Maitland, Florida passed away Friday, January 8, 2016. Helen was born January 21, 1925 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to William and Louise Martin. She graduated from John Harris High School and entered the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her RN certification. On January 21, 1948, she married Gilbert Jamieson and together they raised three children in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where she also continued to work as a private duty nurse. Helen enjoyed many activities with her husband, children and friends. She participated on bowling leagues, bike riding with her girlfriends and always had time to share lots of laughter and good humor with her family, friends and colleagues. She also loved to travel and was always ready to experience someplace new and different. Along with her other interests she especially enjoyed outdoor gardens and nature as well as listening to her favorite music. Helen and her husband retired to Florida and spent many years enjoying life in the sunshine state. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Jamieson and three children; Thomas Jamieson and his partner Mark Jacobs of Strasburg, Virginia; Robert Jamieson and his wife Nancy of Winter Springs, FL; and Jo Ann Jamieson and her partner, Rodney Kunkle of Harrisburg, PA. Helen is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Graveside services and memorial will be held in the Spring 2016 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
