Obituary

Helen Elizabeth Flint, 94, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of Gulfport, FL passed away under hospice care on Saturday, August 27, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was born on February 25, 1922 in Gloversville, NY to Raymond Lane and Harriet Ostrom Lane. She was an only child.

She worked 21 years at Universal Records prior to her retirement and relocation to Gulfport, FL 26 years ago.

Helen had a true passion for life, her family and friends. Her greatest joys were taking long drives, long walks, reading, dancing, traveling, gazing at her beautiful view of the bay, going to Busch Gardens and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Albert R. Flint Jr. in 2002 and husband, William A. Champagne, radioman first class, U.S. Navy who died in 1944 while serving his country during WWII, granddaughter Genal Ryan and great-grandson Dylan Flint. Helen is survived by her children: Gary W. Champagne of Pooler, GA; Richard J. Lowell and wife Pam of Johnstown, Donna DeCrosta and husband Jim of Fort Myers, FL, Alan Flint and wife Linda of Ocala, FL, Sandra Sanders of Gulfport, FL, Debra Robinson and husband Calvin of Clearwater, FL, Dawn Flint Beekman of Tampa, FL., 15 Grandchildren: Gary Champagne Jr, Wayne Champagne, Jarrod Champagne, Nicole Nazario, Nell Lowell, Brenda Clark, Christopher Flint, Jennifer Ayers, Michelle Armstrong, Calvin Robinson, Amber Robinson, Beth Robinson, Justin Robinson, Tina Cortes and Stefanie Beekman Gencer, 20 Great-grandchildren: Kevin, Eric, Gabriel, Ava, Libby, Hayley, Luke, Henry, Kayla, Tanner, Adrianna, Chase, Vinny, Jaden ,Alyrah, Lawson, Lola, Natecia, Anthony and Blake, her brother-in-law Elwood Flint and wife Roberta, sister-in-laws Audrey and Margie Flint plus many nieces and nephews.

Helen left a wonderful legacy and will be missed greatly by her family and many friends in the Town Shores community.

A private interment service will take place at the convenience of the family at North Bush Cemetery, town of Caroga, NY.
