Helen W. Bryan, 94 of Apopka, Florida passed away peacefully Monday, December 28, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born June 15, 1921 in Lumberton, North Carolina to Frank Augustus Wishart and Mary Bertha Lennon. Helen is survived by her children, Grady Chappell of Ocala, FL, Helen Cochran of Orlando, FL, Tommy Chappell of Orlando, FL, and Linda Bush of Apopka, FL. She is also survived by 6 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, 11 Great-Great Grandchildren and lots of very special nieces and nephews.
Helen spent many of her retirement years in North Carolina. She was the last of her generation. Helen was very active in canning fruits and vegetables with her friends.
Helen was a vibrant, fun loving, adventurous, special, and a hardworking woman! She loved life, family, friends and going to church. Helen loved talking on the phone, writing letters, reading, crocheting blankets and last but not least she was happy in her garden. She could grow anything anywhere. Her sunflowers would grow as tall as her home…her pineapples and collard greens belonged on the front cover of a magazine. They were beautiful and perfect.
Helen loved adventure, no matter what it was. She loved to go boating and fishing…she didn't mind riding shot gun with one of her granddaughters; she would just smile as she rode. She has had a full life of fun, laughter, and has shared with her family years of wisdom. She was our go to person for everything…any question you had, she would have an answer. She was loved and will be missed deeply by everyone…Rest in Peace…You will forever be in our hearts! Until we meet again…..
The Memorial service will be held January 30, 2016, 10:30 a.m. @ Lockhart Baptist Church, 7601 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, FL 32810
