Obituary

Harold Robert "Bernie" Bricker, age 77, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away 02 Jan 2020 in Orlando, Florida. Bernie was an adventurer at heart, from an exchange student in Mexico with his sister to an innovative Realtor for over 30 years, he always sought different entrepreneurial perspectives. He began his business career operating a couple of restaurants in Toledo, Ohio. His passion of flying took his wife, Judy, and him to Florida where the skies were mostly blue and saw opportunities to open a new restaurant. Other adventures took them to a focus on Ultralight Aircraft operation and manufacturing of float systems along with flight instruction. His passion for flying led him to the Real Estate business focusing on waterfront properties, which coincidentally were accessible with his lake amphibian airplane. Utilizing his flying and photographic skills he could enhance the real estate presentation with aerial photographs.
Bernie and Judy's devotion to raising and encouraging their son Matt was unparalleled. They logged thousands of miles in their motor home over many states taking their son, Matt, to dive meets. These trips often were opportunities to intercept other family members along the way.
Bernie was the second of six children of Harley Sr. and Marlynn (Hazzard) Bricker, born 25 Oct. 1942, in Jackson, Michigan. He was a 1961 graduate of Bryan High School, Bryan, Ohio and earned a B.A. degree in Business Administration from University of Toledo while concurrently serving in the Ohio Air National Guard.
Bernie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Ann (Fitzpatrick) Bricker and son Matthew Bricker (Alison Ann Sincavage) Sincavage. He is also survived by a sister, Becky (Richard) Kocerha, of Jacksonville, FL and brothers: Jon D. Bricker of Fort Wayne, IN; James Charles (Kathy) Bricker, Fort Mill, SC; Tim (Martha Richie) Bricker of Bryan, OH. Bernie was preceded in death by his parents and brother Harley K. Bricker Jr of Fort Myers, FL.
