Harold August Anderson "Captain", 90 of Zellwood, FL passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at home.
Born April 7,1925 in Titusville, PA. Harold lead a very interesting life by serving his country in the Navy enlisting with his parents approval at age 17. After a honorable discharge he returned home where he met and married his beloved wife of forty-seven years, Helen Marie Anderson who passed away in 1993. Together they began a family furniture business that after approximately ten years brought them and their 5 children to Orlando, FL. The talented Harold Anderson then opened the Anderson Furniture Manufacturing Company which was a well established and respected business for over 40 years. In 2001 Harold was once again lucky in love to have met and married Diane Shaw Anderson and together happily living in Zellwood Station for 14+ years. Adding to his family two daughters, Brenda Vandyke and Sandy Bekemeyer, grandchildren Chris, Shawn,Michael, Michele and Breann.
He loved and was loved by his family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Lucy and Herbert Anderson, two sisters Evelyn Anderson, Pauline Ewing and brother-in-law Robert Ewing. Also his grandson Ryan K. Anderson and granddaughter Eva Anderson. He is survived by his three sons, Russ Anderson , Dennis Anderson, Wyatt Anderson (Tina), and two daughters Erin Whitaker (Gregg) and Renee Hampton (Gary). Known only as "Captain" by his 10 Grandchildren: Kori, Shellie, Travis, Brooke, Andrea, Lynsay, Laura, Taylor, Joe, and Andy. Also leaving behind 13 Great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Harold's life will be held on Saturday March 12th at the Orange County Sportsman's Association, 9020 Kilgore Rd, Orlando, Fl 32836 from 1 to 5 pm with a service being held at 3:30 by Rev Paul Foust.
