Obituary

Guilio Louis Zeni, a resident of Orlando, Florida, passed away on May 29, 2020 at the age of 92 surrounded by his loving family.

Guilio was born on July 30, 1927. He grew up with his family in Spormaggiore, Italy before moving to New York City when he was 15 years old. Before turning 18 years old, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served our country in World War II. After his service, Guilio worked in the Naval Shipyards for over 30 years before retiring.

Guilio was very connected to his Italian heritage, and visited his family's hometown in the Trentino region quite often. He married the love of his life, Elena, on July 17, 1991.

Guilio is survived by his wife, Elena Zeni; his daughters and sons-in-law Martha and Franz Ritucci-Chinni and Loretta and Raymond Karpavicius; his grandchildren Alexandra (John), Amanda (Justin), and Phillip Ritucci-Chinni; Nicole (John) and Gregory (Mariah) Karpavicius; and great-grandchildren Agostino, Alexander, Aidan, Anastasia, Nola, Sabine, and Rowen. He is predeceased by his beloved parents, Domenica and Ludovico Zeni.

Guilio was a man full of love and kindness. He loved to visit with his grandchildren and share meals with them. He was a very talented quilt-maker who made beautiful and intricate quilts for the loved ones in his life. Completing complex jigsaw puzzles was a pastime he enjoyed. Many of his completed puzzles are framed and hung in his home. Guilio's sense of humor brightened up everyone's days. If anyone was in need, Guilio was the first one out of his seat and lending a helping hand. His deep words of wisdom were a regular source of confidence, inspiration, and support to everyone in his life.

Guilio leaves a legacy of love and dedication to his family. We are all grateful for every moment we had in the presence of his lively spirit and bottomless kindness. He will be missed more than these words can express but which is felt by his family, friends, and each and every one who was privileged to have known him.

A Catholic Funeral at Holy Family Catholic Church in Orlando, Florida and Celebration of Life is planned for this summer. His ashes will be placed at Florida National Cemetery in Mims, Florida where Honor Guards will render the "Final Honor and Salute".

The family of Guilio Louis Zeni invites you to leave a message of condolence on the Tribute Wall created in his loving memory.
